Mirror of Shame

February 24, 2018February 7, 2019 ~ Tesia Grace Hoffman ~ Leave a comment

Brokenness, brokenness Is what I long for Brokenness is what I need Brokenness, brokenness That’s what You want from me So take my heart and mold it Take my mind transform it Take my will conform it To Yours, to Yours, Oh Lord Back in October, one of my first days returning home from the … Continue reading Mirror of Shame

The Weight of Sin and Grace

February 21, 2018February 7, 2019 ~ Tesia Grace Hoffman ~ 2 Comments

In thinking through some struggles with election, God's justice, and God's grace, Holy Spirit put it on my heart to write this. People question God's goodness when they see suffering. When some are saved and others aren't. When God heals some and allows others to die. Growing up in the church I think there is … Continue reading The Weight of Sin and Grace

The Quiet Years

February 18, 2018February 7, 2019 ~ Tesia Grace Hoffman ~ Leave a comment

The Quiet Years These are the quiet years The days I cried all my tears Tears of joy, tears of pain You came down, Your Spirit rain These are the quiet days The days I sing to You my praise You show me who I am to You I'm transformed through and through This is … Continue reading The Quiet Years

The Office of Offenses

February 17, 2018September 1, 2018 ~ Tesia Grace Hoffman ~ Leave a comment

Is life really beauty-full? Is life really beauty-full when I am fighting with one family member, another is having heart problems, and I am speaking with neither? Is life really beauty-full when some friendships are fizzling out and I believe it’s because I’m failing? When I am unemployed, and I have no financial stability? When … Continue reading The Office of Offenses

Recital or Relationship

February 8, 2018September 1, 2018 ~ Tesia Grace Hoffman ~ 3 Comments

“Just tell me what to do and I’ll do it.” Sound familiar? Just tell me what to do so I can know what is expected of me. Then I can meet that expectation and be pleasing to you. Then I can be enough, valuable, worthy of your love. I did all you asked of me. … Continue reading Recital or Relationship

Heart Games

February 7, 2018February 13, 2018 ~ Tesia Grace Hoffman ~ Leave a comment

It's a dangerous game Playing with the heart Thinking I didn't have one of my own A game I often played Not knowing from the start That my heart wasn't made out of stone The pain I would cause The ache in their soul Open sores calloused over my heart To "Catch and Release" Seduction … Continue reading Heart Games

Goodbye Addiction

February 5, 2018October 14, 2021 ~ Tesia Grace Hoffman ~ Leave a comment

Failure isn't final. In fact, it's the avenue which God chooses to be glorified and draw us closer to Himself. It is through my failure that I see the marvelous works of God's mighty hand. He takes what I see as hopeless, broken, lost beyond repair, and breathes life into it. Restores it to even greater … Continue reading Goodbye Addiction

“If you [really] love Me, you will keep and obey My commandments.” Jn 14:15 AMPC
Will you follow Me…here?
There was an interview with some Christians in China. Besides them saying, “Prison is our seminary,” (which speaks to the regularity and intensity of the persecution as well as the power given them to prevail), they said, “Every day, we can choose to either identify with believers, or with their persecutors.” The way they determined whom they identified with was whether or not they shared Jesus. If they kept silent, they were identifying with their persecutors, if they shared Jesus, they were identifying with fellow believers.
After watching “The Insanity of God,” my sincere and pure devotion to Christ is called into question. It is a documentary on the persecuted Church created by Nik and & Ruth Ripken; missionaries who travel to some of the most dangerous countries for Christians in order to interview the persecuted. After seeing an entire generation of believers killed in Somalia while doing missions work there, they were feeling ill-equipped and wondering, how do other persecuted Christians do it? How do believers in other countries exist in hostile environments and survive under such intense opposition? And not only survive, but thrive?
I may be purchasing new flowers for #theReasonbehindthebeauty earrings. Please let me know your thoughts! Would you buy them? Would you gift them? Yes or no???
“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully.”
Feeling discouragement creeping on during my walk today, I spotted this sparrow. And God reminded me.
