Fear not. Hope has come into the world. Hope of what? A perfect sin offering condemning sin in the flesh. Forgiveness of sins. Reconciliation with God made possible. Our hope came in the likeness of sinful flesh and ended up on a cross. Our hope is not in a baby, but in the blood that baby would one day shed for us. Hope came into the world to die, so that you and I might live. “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
As I celebrate the birth of my savior I ponder the plans of God. How grand they are. How detailed. How my savior came specifically to die. That was His reason for coming into this world. And I am even more in awe of His love and sacrifice for me. I never quite made the connection before. That I was celebrating the birth of my savior because of His future death. What a humbling thought. One that fills me with praise and adoration for my Lord.
